With record attendance CherryTech 2026 consolidates itself as the largest technical meeting of the cherry industry in the world

The 2026 edition confirmed this June 17 its positioning as the main technical meeting point of the cherry world, where the discussion and search for answers to the challenges that the sector faces today became the focus of the analysis.

During the mega day, attendees were able to access a high-level program composed of three master classes and two conversation forums, a format that allowed not only to delve into key technical aspects of cultivation, but also to open spaces for reflection on the current scenario and industry projections.

The opening was led by the Executive Director of the Chilean Fruit Cherry Committee, Claudia Soler, with her presentation “A new strategy to face the 2026-2027 season.”

Subsequently, Carlos Tapia, specialist advisor in cherry production and technical director, presented the first master class called “The cherry tree under pressure: Technical and operational decisions that make the difference”, addressing the technical and operational challenges faced by cherry orchards and giving keys to more efficient, profitable and results-oriented management.

One of the hallmarks of this edition was the incorporation of an even closer look at the reality of the field, giving prominence to the producer. In this context, the first forum, one of the central forums – titled “How to face the second half? Analysis from the producer’s point of view” – brought together prominent producers to discuss, from practical experience, the complex scenario that this crop is going through and how to face it.

The second master class was led by Javier Rodrigo, researcher at the Center for Agri-Food Research and Technology of Aragon (CITA) and one of the most recognized European specialists in reproductive physiology and production of fruit trees such as the cherry tree. In his presentation, the researcher delved into the physiological processes of the crop with his presentation “Physiology of fruit set in cherry: Mechanisms, factors and determinants of sustainable and profitable production.”

Meanwhile, Walter Masman and Jordi Casas closed the cycle of master classes speaking about “Cherry production in perspective: Agronomic advances of the past and technical challenges for the future.”

The meeting ended with the second forum called “The necessary upgrade after a hard landing”, which brought together prominent advisors to analyze the strategic adjustments that the cherry business requires to maintain competitiveness in an increasingly demanding market.

The 2026 version of CherryTech was complemented, once again, with the presentation of scientific posters, consisting of research of high technical and contingent value on this fruit species, which made it possible to bring the scientific and academic world closer to the attending public, along with the more than 80 stands of companies that provide products and services related to this crop.

For Carlos Tapia, the result of this new edition was very positive: “I believe that humbly and proudly, this event is the most important in the world, without a doubt. We are proud of all the teams behind CherryTech and proud of this tremendous high-level technical event that has had an incredible turnout. From the conversations and agreements that came out today we may have valid differences, but we all have the same objective, which is to build a profitable business, have a solid, strengthened industry and a very good second half. I had the honor of sharing the stage with great advisors, producers, colleagues who contributed with their vision towards a more prosperous future for the cherry. For me the balance is absolutely positive,” he expressed.

Meanwhile, Marie Bach, Events Director of Yentzen Group and co-founder of CherryTech, valued the impact that this version achieved: “We are very satisfied and proud of what CherryTech 2026 was. The call and the level of technical discussion demonstrate that this meeting has already established itself as an indispensable platform for the development of the cherry industry. This motivates us to continue growing and planning future editions.”

With record attendance, a high-content technical program and the presence of the greatest exponents of the field, CherryTech not only reaffirmed its leadership, but also made it clear that it will be the great platform where the future of the cherry will continue to be discussed.
