The cherry industry is currently undergoing a period of reflection and adjustment. In this context, the fourth edition of CherryTech—organized by Smartcherry and Yentzen Group—will feature a program focused on reviewing the lessons learned from the last season and discussing the technical and operational changes that will shape the sector’s future.
The event, which again expects to attract 1,600 attendees, will bring together national and international specialists for masterclasses and discussion forums covering topics ranging from physiology and production management to the strategic vision for navigating new production and commercial landscapes.
The opening address will be given by Claudia Soler, Executive Director of the Chilean Cherry Committee, who will discuss the new strategy for the 2026-2027 season. Later, Carlos Tapia, technical director of Avium and co-founder of Smartcherry and CherryTech, will kick off the analysis with the masterclass “The Cherry Orchard Under Pressure: Technical and Operational Decisions That Make the Difference.” This presentation will seek to identify the critical factors that currently affect the competitiveness of orchards.
“The program includes very interesting discussion sessions. We have authoritative voices from the technical world to discover what we can learn from the past, what unintentional mistakes we may have made, and to rethink the changes needed for the future to keep this industry at the forefront, as we have done for more than a decade. It is also very important to listen to the growers. Everything starts with the planted cherry hectare, and it is crucial that the supply chain establishes its foundations where it all begins. Therefore, we believe that what they have to say will add value—to hear what they think, what they want to propose, and how they envision this industry for the next 10 years,” Tapia stated.
The agenda will also include a scientific look at fruit set physiology in cherries, presented by Spanish researcher Javier Rodrigo, as well as a discussion on agronomic advances and future challenges in cherry production with consultants Walter Masman and Jordi Casas.
The strategic component will feature two forums where producers and consultants will analyze how to face the new stage of the industry and what improvements the current scenario demands.
The robust program of this fourth edition will be complemented by the presentation of scientific posters, which will bring together research of high technical value and relevance, along with more than 80 company booths offering their products and services focused on improving the productivity of this crop.
In this way, CherryTech continues to establish itself as a consolidated forum for discussion that, once again, will contribute to strengthening decision-making and the competitiveness of the sector through innovation and technical knowledge, remaining the only benchmark in Chile for the rest of the world in cherry production.
The 2026 edition has already sold 80% of its tickets. There are still spots available for those who wish to be part of the industry’s most important technical event.
